Attention Alternative media talent : Youtubers, Radio Hosts, Podcasters and Bloggers,
I’m not just a guy who aims to monetize Alternative media, I’m a consumer of alternative media.
One of my favorite programs is Freeman’s weekly program. I’m a member and donate $7 per month to Freeman to this day. I just love his content and I found a great web developer there to boot! I’m also a big fan of Mark Passio.
I have paid for content from Free Your Mind conferences, Red Ice radio, Jay Weidner and others. So what I’m saying here is that not only am I a marketer, but I’m a consumer who is sympathetic to the plight of today’s alternative media talent who either have a hard time making ends meet or as in the case of youtube have just been flat-out and blatantly demonetized on purpose. Arrrgggg!…I’ve got to tell you, when I found out that youtube was pulling this crap it really pissed me off!
I have been observing the monetization options for content creators for some time now and aside from the diminishing youtube revenue, occasional books, CD’s, or sale of health/prepping products a big one seems to be the donation button.
I have never liked this option as it puts content creators at the mercy of charity. This to me seems like virtual panhandling which is below the dignity of all of the talent who I follow in my humble opinion.
I can’t tell you how many times I have seen talent reduced to making emergency fund raising videos just so they can afford to maintain a platform and have the privilege of giving their content away for free. Does anyone else see a problem with this picture?
I have some ideas for addressing this problem and I’ll give you one right now. There are programs available called Revenue Ad sharing. Members can purchase advertising and place banners that other members must click because it’s a mandatory part of their membership.
I can think of one site in particular that has over 300k members, most of which have never heard of Freeman or Mark Passio, so this is a virtually untapped market of people who need this content.
So not only can you get new eyes and ears to your content, but you can purchase advertising packages that typically pay out a return of +/-120% after around 60 days, so effectively your investing in your own success with the goal of earning income from your own promotion. What if we channeled those donations into programs to create passive recurring income. Do you like that Idea?
This is just one idea that I’m developing, but I have many of these components to build the funding machine with. It’s just a matter of assembling the best machine.
I have paying programs that I can place you in right now if you like, but Like I say, I’m developing a better mousetrap so to speak, and this is an evolving space where I intend to roll out a more powerful, shinier, smoother running machine in the near future.
